Please join us on Sunday, March 1 at 2 PM for a walk in the Highland Forest. We will dip into a low lying hemlock grove, follow an intermittent stream, circle a racetrack, stride through a meadow, take in the view of several mountains to the west, and pass many examples of the work accomplished by Weston Forest and Trail. Park along Wildflower Lane near the trailhead on the north side of the street about half way down. Depending on the recent weather it may help to use snowshoes or traction cleats.
Trail maps of all Weston conservation land may be purchased for $10 at the Conservation Commission office in Town Hall, 11 Town House Road, Weston. All ages are welcome to join us, as are well behaved dogs on leash. Attendees do not have to be members of WFTA to join the walk, but please do consider becoming a member, as membership dues support the maintenance and preservation of Weston’s open space. Tailgate refreshments will follow the walk. For information, contact the walk leaders, Ann Wiedie at annwiedie@yahoo.com or 508-981-9151, or Kristin Dykema Barbieri at krisbrasil@gmail.com.
