Slow Down. Breathe. Reconnect. This Easter, join the Weston Forest and Trail Association for a unique meditative experience. ANFT certified Forest Therapy guide Michele Ryan will lead a 2–3 hour “forest bathing” session near College Pond.
Unlike a traditional hike, forest bathing is an immersive, restorative practice designed to slow your pace and open your senses to the natural world. We will move slowly through the woods, likely accompanied by the soothing sounds of spring runoff in our local rivers and streams.
While this walk coincides with the holiday, the intention is secular. That said, many participants find the quietude of the woods and the rhythm of the spring runoff to be a deeply spiritual experience — a chance to witness the “rebirth” of the forest in a way that transcends any specific tradition.
What to bring and wear:
Layers: Because we move slowly and spend time in stillness, we recommend wearing one more layer than you typically would for a walk to stay warm.
Seating: Please bring a small folding stool or a waterproof “sit-upon” (a foam pad or plastic sheet) for moments of reflection. Michele will bring extra seating for those who need it.
Footwear: Sturdy, waterproof boots are recommended as we will be near moving water and potentially damp spring soil.
Free RSVP requested. All are welcome to join us for this peaceful afternoon in the woods.
