What an unprecedented time!
Although WFTA is cancelling until further notice group events like our monthly walks, the woods are open. In fact, we have been seeing record numbers of people enjoying our trails. This is great, as we all need to get out and nature is therapeutic. Florence William'sThe Nature Fix: Why Nature Makes Us Happier, Healthier, and More Creative offers an interesting perspective on this.
As you encounter others on the trail, we ask that you maintain the recommended six foot distance to avoid the spread of Covid-19 through airborne particles. And if you are not feeling well, please recuperate at home to avoid accidentally infecting someone else.
While surrounding towns have implemented a leash law on trails during this time, Weston has not done so yet. Please remember to maintain absolute voice control and appropriate distances with your unleashed dogs. If that's not possible with your overly exuberant pup, please leash out of respect to others. Dogs on the Rail Trail must always be leashed.
We hope you and your families stay healthy and well.
