At left is Professor Elmer Jones, a noted naturalist and  long a fixture of the Weston Forest and Trail Association,  enjoying the dappled sunlight playing on the Sunday Woods trail. Sadly, he passed away a few years ago.

The monthly Weston Forest and Trail Association walk will take place on Sunday, October 7, 2018, led by Linda Duhms. The walk will begin at 2:00 PM as usual and will last about an hour-and-a-half. We will meet on Concord Road, near the beginning of Laxfield Road. Tailgate refreshments will follow the walk.

We will walk through parts of Sunday Woods, as well as other trails in the Fiske and Jericho Town Forests. A map and more details about the area can be found in Chapters 15 and 16 of Walks on Weston Conservation Land by Elmer Jones. This book and a brand new trail map can be purchased at the Conservation Commission office in the Town Hall. You can then better enjoy Weston's abundant open spaces on your own.

You do not have to be a member of the Weston Forest and Trail Association to join the walk, but please consider becoming a member. Your membership dues support the maintenance and preservation of Weston’s open space. Please bring your friends. Well behaved children and dogs are welcome but must be on leash. For more information please contact the walk leader, Linda Duhms, (EDIT: contact info removed after walk).

In his book Walks on Weston Conservation Land, Professor Elmer Jones had this to say about the Fiske Forest, of which the Sunday Woods are a part. We will start from Concord Road.
